Theatrical props made from EPS blocks and sheets are cost effective, lightweight and easy to work with. The material weighs less than one pound per cubic foot making it extremely easy to move around. It can be cut, carved and coated using standard carpentry tools and paints to create everything from furniture to castles. For this production of Jesus Christ Superstar, the theater group in Helena, Montana used both 4 foot x 8 foot sheets as well as EPS blocks to produce the different set pieces. Using standard house paint they were able to create castle walls, steps and signage.
